Water Protector’s Training Camp in 2024

Water Protector’s Training Camp (WPTC) is a unique opportunity for young people to learn with professional activists and artists in a collaborative and creative setting while exploring their own commitment to being a Water Protector. We’re excited to be offering more sessions of WPTC this summer and fall.

Stay tuned for details to be announced in the weeks to come and sign up on the WPTC interest form if you’d like to host a WPTC or find out when we’re coming to your area!

We recently completed a WPTC with 3rd-5th graders from Rapid City Elementary, in partnership with Seeds. The students spent time with the river, engaged in creative practice, and learned about the 4 ways to be a water protector through the lens of the butterfly model for transformative justice (resist, reform, build, heal).

Take a look into WPTC with the wonderful recap video below from our WPTC last summer at the Old Art Building in Leland, facilitated by Jordan Hamilton and Holly T. Bird.
