Title Track’s first poetry slam! This Saturday, July 18, in Detroit!

“Healing Ourselves”

Sometimes healing sounds like laughter.
Sometimes it sounds like a grandmother’s song,
a neighbor calling your name,
or a stranger saying, “I see you.”

We are stitched together by stories.
By the names we remember.
By the ones we reclaim.

Come sit in the circle.
Come witness what love sounds like
when it refuses to be forgotten.

Poem by Amber Hasan, Title Track Board member and Healing Ourselves program co-director

On Saturday, July 18, from 5:30–7:30 PM, we invite you to gather with us at Vander in Detroit (626 Harper Ave.) for an evening dedicated to poetry, connection, and cultural healing. Hosted by Title Track’s Healing Ourselves Initiative, this $500 Poetry Slam is an opportunity to experience the power of words and how they can be tools to  restore, challenge, uplift, and unite.

Whether you’re discovering spoken word for the first time or have loved it for years, your presence helps create the kind of community where healing can take root. Bring a friend, bring your family, and join us as we celebrate the voices, histories, and shared experiences that continue to shape who we are. Together, we’ll laugh, reflect, and remember that healing is a communal activity!

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door, so getting your ticket ($5 donation) before the show is recommended! Seating is limited! A small vendor market with snacks, mocktails, and more will also be available.

Don’t miss out on this unforgettable night of art, expression, cultural storytelling, and community!
