Honoring Dr. King. Honoring Holly (ba) T. Bird

“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Holly (ba) T. Bird loved this quote of Dr. King’s from his Letter from a Birmingham Jail. It spoke to a deep spiritual kinship with a fellow freedom fighter who worked tirelessly for justice and equity while building beloved community with courage and compassion.

Holly (ba) lived these commitments in so many ways from countless acts of kindness towards strangers, friends, and family to big movement building acts of resistance on the frontlines. You can find three clips from our recent State of Water tribute series to  Holly (ba) below. We invite you to take some moments to listen, reflect, and be inspired.

Our world sure needs all of us to show up right now to carry on these tremendous legacies of love, healing, and resistance.
