Holly T. Bird to join panel for Tunnel Vision event this evening!

Title Track Co-Executive Director Holly T. Bird is a last minute addition to the panel for this evening’s Tunnel Vision event, presented by Groundwork Center, Sierra Club Michigan, Progress Michigan, and Oil & Water Don’t Mix.

Join the event in-person at The Alluvion in Traverse City or online! For all the event details and to RSVP click here.

From the event description:

Some of the leading voices in the movement to shut down Line 5 will offer a compelling, clear, and multi-layered picture of why the oil tunnel is a risky and false solution—and explain why we cannot afford to wait to shut down the existing dual pipelines. A Q/A session will give you a chance to ask your own questions.

Presenters will also suggest ways you can take action to help stop the proposed oil tunnel and, more broadly, help shut down the freshwater apocalypse-in-waiting known as Line 5.

This event happens at a crucial moment in the arc of Line 5, with multiple court cases and permit reviews underway, and key decisions expected in coming months.

Speakers include:
Dan Bock, Assistant Attorney General, State of Michigan
Brian O’Mara, Geological Engineer and 30-Year Tunnel Expert
Frank Ettawageshik, Executive Director of the United Tribes of Michigan
Denise Keele, Executive Director Michigan Climate Action Network
Sean McBrearty, Operations Director, Oil & Water Don’t Mix
Ashley Rudzinski, Climate & Environment Program Director, Groundwork

The state and nationally renowned experts will offer insight about the tunnel from multiple key perspectives: legal, policy, technical and cultural. Your involvement now is important, and speakers will have strategic advice for taking action.

The full recording of the Tunnel Vision event is viewable online! Holly T. Bird’s remarks begin at 1:13:10.
