Happy Earth Day! Happy Birthday, Title Track!!

Photos: A few precious glimpses of Title Track Board & Staff through the years featuring our founding board member Sally Van Vleck, our beloved former board member & co-executive director Holly (ba) T. Bird, and our current board members and staff.

“It seems that for some of us that age, we lose some of the memories that we could once easily access. I’ll not forget my invitation to join the adventure of a lifetime in saying ‘yes’ to Title Track. I knew this was going to be different and stretching and validating. Lately, we have experienced a lot of disappointment, uncertainty – loss. That being said, in the programming we’ve done through the past year and some upcoming projects that we’re excited to announce, we’re not in the work of trauma-bonding – we do and have done enough of that. We’re in this healing work as community work.

More details soon, but just know that as we celebrate the completion of YEAR 7 of Title Track – now more than ever in order to see tomorrow, we need your support. Giving financially to our general fund is always welcome, but if you or someone you know in your community is seeking to give back utilizing their talents and resources to help an organization thrive, Title Track wants to engage with you. We need to continue our work, but we need more than financial support. Please reach out to me via our website or via email to admin (at) titletrackmichigan.org. We would love to start or continue a conversation. Happy Birthday, TT.” -Jenny Jones, Executive Director

RECENT PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS:

Data Center Resistance Organizing

We’ve been at the forefront of a very strong and successful hyperscale AI data center resistance movement. In the process we’ve built lasting partnerships with organizations and community leaders, educated many candidates and elected officials, influenced legislation, commanded the media narrative and grown our online audience by over 1000%. Our own founder and creative director, Seth Bernard, received the Climate Hero award from Michigan Climate Action Network the same day he MC’d the no secret deals rally at the capitol alongside frontline activists from across the state as well as MI Attorney General, Dana Nessel.

Youth Empowerment

We’ve also continued to empower youth – from collaborative songwriting classes and water workshops at schools, libraries, camps, and community centers around the state, to sending Indigenous youth to the national Bioneers conference in California, accompanied by their educators, for a life changing experience made possible through Sally Van Vleck’s youth fund.

Healing Ourselves

In 2025, Title Track expanded Healing Ourselves events across Michigan through a series of skill swaps and community building opportunities.  In Summer & Fall 2026, our communities of color will gather for dedicated social and community building events in Detroit! Stay tuned for event details coming soon for events on July 18, August 15, and more!

State of Water

Our State of Water podcast broke the story statewide of the Protect the Porkies campaign and have helped block $50 million in taxpayer funds from going to a new sulfide mine on the western edge of the Porkies. Recent State of Water episodes have spotlighted the MOP Up Michigan / Money out of Politics campaign here in Michigan in our episode with Clean Water Action’s Sean McBrearty and Indigenous-designed ethical tech creations in our conversation with robotics inventor, Danielle Boyer.

Water Equity & Climate Resilience Caucus

We’re going strong consistently as core members of the Water Equity and Climate Resilience Caucus (WECR) – the country’s premiere formation of environmental justice leaders. Even in this administration we are leveraging federal dollars for water affordability programs across the country.

Michigan Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Debbie Dingell recently introduced the Water Access and Affordability Act to establish the first-ever permanent federal water assistance program at the U.S. EPA. At a time when up to 1 in 7 people in the U.S. are struggling to afford their water bills, this legislation recognizes a simple truth: water is essential and must be affordable for everyone. Now, Congress must act. The WECR is urging citizens across the country to contact their legislators to support this essential bill.
