Take action: Say Yes to Michigan & Say NO to Data Centers!

The rapid rise of data centers in Michigan has become a real battleground across the state as communities are standing against these extractive, profit-driven projects that endanger the land and water, threaten to skyrocket energy rates, along with many more impacts on local communities (see graphics below!). Michigan’s Attorney General Dana Nessel and environment organizations such as Sierra Club – Michigan have weighed in, arguing for full transparency and a commitment to democracy and environment instead of a rushed, secretive process benefitting corporations.

Current Calls to Action!

Recent bills in the MI State House and Senate were introduced to regulate data centers in Michigan – Senate bills 0761, 0762, and 0763 and House bills 5396, 5397, and 5398. Contact your state legislators to encourage them to support these legislative efforts!

“It’s really not acceptable and it’s not appropriate when our climate is on the line, when our water’s on the line, when our land is on the line, when the future of our economy and our electricity grid are on the line.”
