We’re honored to pass along this special birthday invitation from our dear friend, mentor, and founding board member, Sally Van Vleck.
“I am launching a “Mini Bday Fundraiser” as my birthday approaches on April 30th. The money will be donated to a fund through Title Track in my name that supports youth empowerment. Specifically, we are raising funds to send several young people out to the Bioneers Conference in 2026. This conference is inspiring, emphasizing solutions based on science and “how nature does it”. It has a strong youth component as well as deep representation of Indigenous people, both speaking and participating. We sponsored a Bioneers Satellite Site in Traverse City for 12 years back in the early 2000’s. Now there is only one conference in CA.
Holly T. Bird(ba) who served on the Title Track board with me before becoming an ED, had chosen a few young people to be recipients for this year’s Bioneers Conference, but the timing didn’t work out. This would make her so happy; youth empowerment was one of her many causes.
So in addition to being a birthday present to me, your donation will be another way to honor Holly as we heal from her sudden death.
In the midst of chaos and high needs, there are many requests for our money these days, so no worries if your budget is tapped out. You will STILL be my friend!
Thank you for considering this request. And, guess what? I’m turning 78!”
We are so grateful for all of the love, care, and support that Sally continues to share with the Title Track community.
